Ive also found it incredibly useful on servers I run, a lot of webhosts use the same IP (which isn't your servers) for all outgoing connections... (which makes it annoying when trying to get servers to talk across webhosts)

As warriorscot mentioned Android honeycomb has very excellent support for mice and only a few things use it in a way that is a bit odd.
