There is a local hamburger "chain" in Austin that took over old Taco Bell locations- the old mission style design. The bells were removed but the façade remained the same. They closed all but one or two though and I think even the buildings are gone now.

I haven't been back to Tyler, Texas since my grandparents died. It's nice enough but I can see how tours, much like hopes, dreams and life, can come to an end there.

They're good. Total sugar bombs. But good. The food is not all great. The last time I had it, I swear the burger and the tater tots had the exact same oily taste. As if they were cooked together. At least you can slather chili on everything to hide some of the imperfections.
I'm not sure if I prefer it over Dr. Pepper. However, I do like it and always get it at the movie theater that serves it. Which is one of the few places I still find it.

I like Mr. Pibb but I have never connected it to Dr. Pepper. I guess because when I was a kid, it was more common here and advertised/sold as it's own deal.
