The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow has been my best witch book in awhile. Loved it. I feels like Practical Magic felt the first time I read it.
I agree, Thundercats. What being described in this post, keeping Connery compartmentalized, that’s the definition of separating the artist from the art. It’s only been recently, in my lifetime anyway, that more people are seeing a more complete picture and NOT separating the two. This was confusing to me as well.

The culture hasn’t decided to separate art from artist with regards to cosby and weinstein as far as I know. People still watch and love many projects both were involved in.
The thing about The Jaunt is that it sucker punches you into forgetting its a horror story until the last paragraph. Which is wjy the jumpscare of an ending works so well .
Holy cow, Poe’s “Hop-Frog” messed me up for days, and I was in high school when I read it.
Hell yes, “The Jaunt” is probably my favorite short story of King’s though obviously he has hundreds and many of them are very very good. The Men in Low Yellow Coats and that one with the mill basement full of rats are probably the favorites off the top of my head.
