God, doesn’t that sound incredible. With her ludicrous gifts, she would make that freakin’ sing. Just thinking about it gets me excited.

I’ll read anything she writes, but I’ll be thrilled if she revisits the world of Strange and Norell; at one point she said she was working on a story that would focus on the lower class members of that world.
Clarke sadly suffers from Chronic fatigue syndrome which is why her output isn’t as prolific could be. Still, she’s now working on a new novel apparently, so hopefully that will be out in a few years time.
Oh, this was such wonderful book. I’ll be interested to see what they do with it.
Another vote for watching the series. I think you can find it on youtube. Just a great adaptation.
Can’t wait. Piranisi was a uniquely intriguing book and Susanna Clarke is an outstanding writer (though not very prolific). Glad that they are going with something like stop-motion rather than live-action. It *could* be done live action, but this feels like the right choice.
Totally agree with Milligna000 — The series that they made of Jonathan Strange & Mr, Norrell was excellent and perfectly cast. An example of getting it exactly right.
Um, go run out and watch the series. It’s literally one of the best adaptations I’ve ever seen. The changes they make are very smart to help tell the story, nothing done just for the hell of it.
This is delusional.
If we’re going to include haunted hotels with The Shining, I would include The Innkeepers (top 5 in this list). My number #1 would be The Haunting ‘63; I find The Innocents to be a bit too dry.
I know it is not considered a great movie but I would rank it higher than many that made the list (though I am biased as both the movie and original book by Mr. Matheson are favourites of mine).
I just finished watching the whole series for the first time a few weeks ago, and the episode where Broyles accidentally ingested LSD was one of the many things that sticks in my memory from the show. Funny, touching, and vulnerable all at the same time.
He was great in every role, but the first thing that always comes to mind is the Toys R Me sketch. Intimidating and hilarious is a tough combo to pull off.
Fringe has long been on my ‘rainy day treat’ pile for watching. I always knew Torv would be a highlight but didn’t realize he was on it, let alone as a tight character with her. Excited and sad.
I’ve never seen The Wire, but he was outstanding in Fringe. In fact, my only complaint about the show is that he wasn’t given a more prominent story line of his own.
I never saw anything less than great performances out of him. Even in things like Resident Evil, where the show was pretty weak, he was still great. People are currently name-checking his role on LOST and he was barely even in the show. Plus all of the great performances from games. The third Horizon game won’t be…
Just awful. He was a huge talent and made everything he was in better. I’ve been re-watching Fringe lately and it wouldn’t have been the show it was without him. He was such a pro and it showed. This is hard news.
That is very kind of you, thanks.. But my hope is you don’t end up in any hospital at all!
I hope I get you as my nurse next time I’m in the hospital.
I know what you are saying, I don’t entirely agree. I am an ICU nurse, perhaps different circumstances but if any patient even attempts a joke, goofy or otherwise, I say Good On Ya. To me it is a way of being friendly. I’ll take it over mean, scared, sad, angry, rude—any day. The little human exchanges, dad jokes,…
