I am absolutely blown away by this.
the PS3 games are really good. if you haven’t played them I’d definitely recommend them. I really enjoyed Tools of Destruction, A Crack in Time, and Into the Nexus.
was a big fan of the ps2 Ratchets, especially GC, and thought the ps3/4 era was good but not pushing the envelope in any way. But this looks like they’ve learned from their time makign Spider-man and Sunset overdrive and applied some new ideas in the Ratchet-verse. Makes me want a ps5 now!!
I’m so excited. Tools of Destruction was the first and only R&C game that I’d played until the free PS4 remaster a couple months ago, and it was a blast. It doesn’t have the pedigree of something like Mario, but I’d put R&C up there in terms of games that embody unadulterated joy and whimsy.
I always look forward to anything Insomniac does.
i gotta say, I haven’t played a Ratchet game in ages and was not hyped for this one but damn it, I think they’ve done it. This looks pretty rad
End game, the palamute are pretty much useless. All they do is faster travel and minor damage. In High Rank, you should have all sub camps unlocked already, plus the greater wirebug, so getting around is no longer a problem.
Palicos just add so much more utilities that a double palico team (for solo) is meta. 2…
This looks good
I'm so excited for this game I purposefully did not watch the stream so I can see it all myself later :)
I’ve never been as happy with a new console as I am with PS5.
Counterpoint:
I don’t know, I imagine there’s decent overlap in the venn diagram of “People who bought the PS5 in the first few months” and “Willing to pay full price for a game”
I hope they do a physical too. For whatever reason Nickelodeon or whoever owns it seems very prickly with their licensing. Good luck downloading the TMNT Arcade you bought on Xbox 360 or that Turtles in Time remake.
I hope Cris Tales is good, because I’m loving the art for the game.
Turtles on Switch was the only news I needed to hear today. I really hope they do a physical release.
Apart from the engine catching fire at a red light and the exhaust backfiring so hard that you could see the cloud of smoke in the next county, the car ran great!
Most people are hyper-focused on the technical issues with the game, and are ignoring or glossing over its design flaws. It’s possible, even likely, that they’ll fix the technical problems - at least on PC’s and the current consoles - but I don’t see the design flaws getting fixed. Maybe they’ll come closer to what…
Even if they fix every bug in the game, it still doesn’t live up to what they promised with their first gameplay reveal. They would need to massively overhaul the quest structure, narrative, NPCs and player character building.
I really hate the “games should be priced by length” argument, I really do. Firstly it’s not like it disappears when you finish it - you can play it multiple times and if it is a good game you will (how many times have I played through super mario 3?!? a LOT) and secondly, a game being long is not always a good thing!
