Im finding the app is extremely buggy on Android, some really poor performance at times, had an issue with scrolling inertia bouncing backwards and it looks like the Back button functionality has not been implemented. If I select a game from the homepage and then hit back to go back it closes the app. Looks like it

You don’t need a PC for VR, all of the Quest devices are complete with processing built-in and don’t require a separate PC to use them, though you have the option to connect them to a PC to play games from there. Also, the existing Quest 1/2 are quite successful with games like Beat Saber being very popular.

As a 3D artist, there’s lots of ways it could be used, at the very least it’d be great to have a 3D view of the stuff you’re working on. Beyond that, if they make the tools then it would be super useful for animation, you could do keyframe animation by grabbing and posing a rig or even do different types of motion

The actual movie looks good, but the casting of Pratt to voice Mario is some pretty awful casting. I have nothing against him and only a passing interest in the games, but we all know what Mario sounds like and it’s so off to hear his voice coming out of Mario, especially since he did voice work for the Lego movies

The underperformance is probably due to lack of marketing, for a $20 million movie the marketing budget is probably quite small and I think most people didn’t know the movie existed.

HMMMMM, I wonder what that might mean...

Phil Harrison probably has a display like this in his own home, it would have the PS3, Xbox One, and now Stadia.

*Surprised Pikachu face*

You’d think, but more time doesn’t necessarily mean the game will turn out good. Surely it’ll be better than it would have been but I think all the behind the scenes stuff indicates that they don’t really have a good game concept. What they’ve shown so far has been pretty all over the place.

That video is a great demonstration of “A thousand miles wide but one foot deep”

“Funds Raised” is a bit disingenuous, it’s not really crowd funding it’s just selling the game/in-game content for the vast majority of it.

We’ll see if COD can make it that long, last few years are showing it’s running out of steam

The improvements for Spider-Man Remastered aren’t just framerate and resolution. I didn’t know until I watched the Digital Foundry’s analysis of the PC version where they have some comparisons to the original PS4 release but there’s some significant updates to models and textures in many places.

It’s nice, but there’s only so much you can do with the assets as they are. A lot of photo-realistic qualities come from the assets just being made that way and at this point GTAV is quite dated.

I have to say though, like previous games it is absolutely overly complex—it has gameplay mechanics where there isn’t really any benefit to using them so it just makes things complicated or things where the amount of effort it takes to use them far outweighs the benefits.

Also, just because Gamestop says they aren’t responsible for verifying rights of the NFT’s they totally are, they’re enabling the sale of them and they can be held liable.

Not just a IP issue but those are clearly ripped assets from not just God of War itself but others as well. Someone should be holding Microsoft accountable for approving stuff like that.

It’s super accessible, for people that are interested but are concerned about how complex reviews make it seem--don’t worry, gameplay mechanics are built up over time as you play and they are well explained; it doesn’t just drop it all on you at once.

Maybe we shouldn’t be giving attention to stuff like this? Considering all of the shitty stuff from him in the past and that this does not seem to be a particularly remarkable game in the first place. Oh, and don’t forget the NFT stuff.

It’s more about AR, the next big thing would be some kind of AR headset that people would be wearing around most of the day. Facebook wants to be Google/Apple and be making the devices that billions of people can’t live without.
