Is it just me or when the guy says “Money for blood...” it looks like a still image that’s been animated rather than the actual character model having facial animation?

I bet their fingers are raw
Based off how Black Desert turned out hopefully that means they’ll have time to hire a UI and UX team!
I felt the same way, it was like “Ah, that’s her”, and then that was it
I wouldn’t say this actually looks any better except for the resolution. Whatever graphical changes they’re doing is inconsistent with the style of the game materials and assets and it does not look better to me.
That wait time isn’t that bad in the realm of products that go up for sale before they are actually built. Though putting down the full price upfront definitely sucks. Usually you only get charged when it ships or you put down a small deposit.
Glad this game is turning out pretty well, it looked very cool.
Characters in current games are already at that level. The hair rendering I have to say it isn’t holding up that well at least in this example. The hair rendering has already been available in UE4 so it’s not new either.
I am a game designer though. That type of demo has been done a bunch, Epic has made several of them along with an entire tool for it. That character demo also doesn’t benefit from UE5 features either, all that can be done with UE4.
I’m wondering why they bothered with this demo, since the stuff that Epic has made themselves to show off the engine are much more impressive.
It’s not necessarily about seeing a difference, it’s also how it feels. If you play a game at 30fps then the movement you just performed happened 1/30th of a second ago, with 60fps it happened 1/60th of a second ago. So even if you can’t see a difference (or even if your display can’t support that refresh rate) what…
Good article. I had wondered what was up with it. It never really seemed all that interesting, what was shown was very clearly another example of Ubisoft taking as much existing assets as possible and trying to flip them into another game, but it was baffling that it hadn’t released long ago since that should have…
Cool, but it’s running SteamOS so that’s a pass
And remember most of these are also coming out on PC as well
I was surprised at how bad it is, it’s not even just bugs, the combat design is extremely bad, like they would have to hire someone new who knows what they’re doing to completely redo it.
Has he really been that much of a benefit to the company? Or are the other people in the company just good at their jobs?
I think without those big press conferences I wouldn’t have heard about a lot of the smaller games that look really cool.
This one actually doesn’t seem as bad as Avengers was with that issue. They can’t stray too far from the original comic designs. I’d say most of them look very different though Groot’s face is extremely close to how he looked in the movies.
I’m just don’t really see an issue. It’s fair if someone thinks it’s not enough, but $2,500 would be 25 hours of work at $100 an hour, which I think is fine. If it was like $500 that would be unreasonably low. And this also seems like a low-key contest, the announcement is an article on the general News page of the…
Adobe is a much bigger company than Epic though so that might be fair from that perspective. In any case it would be nice if Epic gave a bigger prize, but I don’t think $2,500 is too low.
