Can we talk about that stupid fucking shirt he wears with his name embroidered on both moobs? I see it in every photo of him and it looks ridiculous. Is he deathly afraid of not being recognized?

This is pretty boneheaded. There’s a good chance the jury pool won’t know who either of these idiots are. Releasing her diary to the NYT does nothing but hurt him.
I’m not sure what you would be tricked into, since the team behind the sequels isn’t making the Rey movie. Are you expecting JJ Abrams to dress up as Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and direct the film in secret?
It’ll probably go off on its own.
And yet again another article chronicling the demise of Twitter fails to point out that Musk was paid very handsomely to destroy a tool of mass organization by the very people being organized against.
Swings like this are why Star Trek has been knocking it out of the park in the streaming TV department lately.
My first reaction: the writers haven’t come anywhere close to earning this yet, especially given how clunky this season has been. I guess we’ll see the Gorn or anything else resembling a main plot arc in Episode 10.
I don’t know about others, but I don’t go looking at media companies for validation of my fandom. I’ll buy Prodigy Blu-Ray because I genuinely like the show and want to make sure I can keep watching it. If the sales boost the chances of some other network picking up season 2, all the better.
(That’s not to slag on Matrix 2 — it’s one of my favourites! — but the pulled back shots of the brawl were bad... though acceptable for a movie that came out 20 friggin’ years ago)
Imagine going back to 1993 and telling a 12-year old that, in 30 years, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, and Thor would dominate the box office while the best showing from DC is fucking Aquaman.
I have this image in my head of DeSantis crowing “WOKE WOKE WOKE! WOKE WOKE WOKE!” in the style of GOB’s chicken dance from Arrested Development.
I think COVID deserves a lot of the blame for the general feeling of malaise around franchise streaming and movies. When it comes to Marvel Studios’ TV projects, the best-received shows so far seem to be Loki and Wandavision, and those were the two that were in production before March, 2020. None of the post-Endgame MC…
An E-Wing?! Talk about a blast from the past.
I’m suuuuuper curious who is funding “No Labels.” I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same rightwing groups behind RFK Jr’s campaign.
Awesome news for the B5 fans. I’m a casual fan but might pick this one up just the same.
We’ll see where it goes, but I tend to agree. The unions are winning the messaging war handily at the moment and the studios are overextended financially with debt, anemic box office numbers, and unprofitable streaming platforms.
This is where I’m at, too. I haven’t paid for Reddit (or YouTube, Gmail, etc.) yet, but I’m not ruling it out. It’s a cost/benefit thing. If I get a significant amount of use out of a product/service, I’m not opposed to paying for a better experience.
Are these “anonymous studio executives” aware that the trades aren’t physical magazines anymore? These articles are posted online for everyone to see, and absolutely no one is going to be on the side of the studios who openly talk about icing out the writers until they lose their homes.
I have heard this charge leveled against a number of Trek movies and no one has ever been able to explain what they mean.
Considering that there was an entire season cliffhanger the year before this movie where Data’s emotions put the Enterprise in direct peril, it was a pretty weird choice.
