I’d love it if LeVar Burton got another try. He didn’t put in a great performance, but he also wasn’t given any of the perks the frontrunners received (e.g. two weeks of hosting, focus group testing, a trial show before filming, etc.).

The host should be the personable, competent equivalent of wallpaper. They shouldn’t make the audience uncomfortable but, more importantly, they shouldn’t make the contestants or staffers uncomfortable, because that affects the quality of the show.
If they can make these meal squares tastier, more nutritious, and less filled with preservatives than typical prepacked foods, they’d do a great business selling to the military, astronauts, survivalists, hikers, field researchers, etc. Their pitch deck doesn’t reflect that at all. The fact that they’re trying to make…
“Fisherman” flavor.
You can have the job, but only if you pledge your eternal soul to Consumer Cellular.
Even if they did give it to one of the previous guest hosts (and I think they could, there were several in there who did a good job), they have to negotiate a new deal from scratch. I could see them doing a few weeks of guest hosts before announcing a new host.
I was a supporter of his before all the news came out about his past. There are plenty of other people—including several in the guest host rotation—who did an equally competent job and don’t have the baggage.
Oooh, get Jeri Ryan to guest host (in character as Seven of Nine).
I’m hoping you’re wrong, but I could totally see this happening. For all the hype Jeopardy! gets as a beloved game show, its core audience is still the “qualifies for Medicare” demographic. They are unlikely to care about these controversies as much as younger folks.
That reminds me...where was Watson’s week as a guest host?
Not to worry, he’s got Shatner’s people on it.
Pour overs can be quite good. I make them at home sometimes since they’re basically manual drip coffee and the pour-over maker is easier to clean and maintain than a full-size electric coffee maker.
Seconded. Like Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, this recall could go from a joke to a catastrophe in no time.
Customers bagging their own groceries at discount stores has been a thing for decades in the U.S. Food4Less (Kroeger’s discount chain) does this.
She’s reportedly one suspension away from permanent ban.
A phenomenon known in game show circles as the Fuentes/Fugelsang Implosion Theory.
Even if ratings stay steady in the short term—and they might, the core audience is still retirees who probably don’t care about the controversies with these two—they are shooting themselves in the foot for future by not picking someone who appeals to multiple demographics.
Sounds like something those sovereign citizen idiots would try.
As a Fresno resident...I don’t think most people (other Californians included) realize that it’s an actual city, and not just a place to get a Starbucks refill on the way to Yosemite.
