Every time...every time I see a headline about this story, I briefly panic that one of my favorite feel-good shows is going to be ruined by something more serious than Kristey Alley and John Ratzenberger’s dumb opinions.

Given that they pump out 22 episodes a year in relative obscurity, I imagine the writing staff is pretty lean. For me, episodes in the newer seasons range anywhere from “comfortable background noise” to “instant classic” (looking at you, “Rabbit Ears”).

Reginald mainly seemed to stick around as a love interest for Hayley, which is probably why he disappeared not long after she married Jeff.

I always wondered what happened to Mike Barker, who was one of the co-showrunners and voice actors during the FOX years and left around the time the show moved to TBS. I figured TBS’ budget didn’t allow for two showrunners, but IMDB says he hasn’t done any industry work since leaving AD.

That’s a fair argument. I honestly don’t think it would’ve made a huge difference one way or another if these revelations had come out earlier, but it’s hard to say. I’m very interested in seeing if/how this impacts Trump’s COVID-denier supporters and enablers going forward.
