That’s not fair. There are lots of people that vote GOP because they’re single-issue voters. Lots of people cast a vote based solely on abortion. The GOP candidate could advocate for any number of crazy policies but so long as they’re anti-abortion, they get that person’s vote.

I think that’s partly right. But when Trump was talking about “the economy” I think lots of people latched on to NAFTA and various free trade agreements and the concept of “bringing manufacturing back to the US”.
