They never stopped doing G1 homages. They’ve always gone back to classic colours and looks.

I agree with the Rey plot line people really wanted their tropes, but the problem with the way Fin and Poe failed is that it wasn’t a “learn from your mistakes and do better next time” failure. They got most of the rebellion killed off because Poe disobeyed orders. Its not so much that they subverted tropes in that…
Thanks for the reply. Besides SS, I think they’re all enjoyable films (not without issues of course). That’s a shame you didn’t like any. I love most of the Marvel movies, but I feel like they get a free pass on shaky to mediocre films (IM3, Ultron, Thor, 2nd half of Guardian 2) and it’s cool to hate on the DC films.…
I think that the issue for a lot of people regarding BvS and JL is how the characters are portrayed. I tend to look at these films as films first (plot holes, music, pacing, dialogue, etc.) and superhero movies second. And when it comes to the superhero part I don’t mind different versions of Batman (killing people)…
Part of that is because like Hal Jordan, Barry Allen is a bland character.
The critics were fucking crazy. I loved this movie, and I HATED BvS. I thought it was about as good as a pretty decent Marvel movie.
We had a Tim Burton party:
I went the total pun route. “Iron Chef”
Batman: “I never kill”
Clark: “What about Kuniazev? Or thr guy you impaled with the Batmob—”
Batman: “I NEVER KILL!”
I enjoyed it, it was well-made, well shot, and was an interesting take on the genre, but yes, I think it was overhyped. The 3rd act fell flat after amazing build-up.
I still don’t get the love for VVitch. There was no tension. There was no payoff. It was just...nothing.
Well if you think about it, a sexualized (because Michael Bay, duh) teenage Dora the Explorer makes sense for the alternate timeline we are living in. Now please excuse me while I go pour my 9:20 AM scotch.
Can I have your stuff after you leave?
Morrison and Whedon were brilliant then some idiot made Iceman gay and all went to hell.
Just a minor quibble, but that is probably not a reference to Secret Wars Storm/Thor, but looks be a reference to New Mutants/X-Men story where she used a hammer given to her by Loki. Uncanny Annual from ‘85, IIRC.

No, what I’m saying is “Here is how to watch Star Trek: Discovery.”
“That time Data had a slice of Troi cake”
Liefeld can’t really draw either though.
I am very confident at my exclusion of Shadows of the Empire, but I won't begrudge it of you if you disagree.
