She sounds awesome enough. Consider my interest piqued.

Le Socks would prefer you remember this one
Not officially part of the UK, but still under its control and closely connected, which explains the Watson support. And yeah, Le Tiss was fun to watch. One would’ve thought Hoddle in particular would’ve appreciated his style and skillset.
British player, uncharacteristic British loudness. Which is now characteristic. #comeontim
Sure, we just have to defend the bastards because it’s owned by the British crown. Is that like Guam and the USA?
The German-Jamaican version of Dustin Brown, yes.
Also the #1 British ranked player.
I think it’s a little over-ambitious to expect non-British people to understand the nuances of Crown dependencies and bailiwicks...
He scored another great goal in the same game (~01:55 in) this was after being dropped in the previous 3 games.
If it’s a tight match with a clear crowd favorite (like today) then it happens to the other player.
I don’t think I’ve watched a tennis match since Pete Sampras won his last U.S. Open against Andre Agassi 12 or 13 years ago, but I just happened to catch this match, and was rivited. Both women played their hearts out.
Don’t watch the US Open or French Open if you don’t like the crowd booing a player who’s conversing with the umpire.
Watson isn’t unranked. She’s unseeded. She’s currently ranked 59.
Murray losing would be heartbreak.
They were loud during points was the problem. Which isn’t unusual and frankly, I don’t get the big deal but she did complain and the commentators agreed with her that the outbursts were happening inappropriately. I think they were just excited that an underdog was winning AND she was British.
Guernsey is not in England. It’s a self governing British Crown Dependency. It’s a bit like Puerto Rico I guess.
Hate to be the pedantic Brit but Guernsey is not part of England (or even the UK), it’s one of the Channel Islands.
To be honest, I didn’t say you were. Just saying what someone might think after reading this and then smoking a brisket for the first time.
IS THAT MASE?!! I missed it, 1997 high school me is super bummed.
Depends what you mean by “happen”. Happen as in “happen instantly in all times and places, without my lifting a finger”? Surprisingly, not. There’s those little things like a lifetime of culture and education, and human nature to overcome.
