I haven't been that invested in this season so far but I was strangely affected by Ray's death. It was very sad and beautifully acted (on both sides) by Ewan McGregor.

Whole bunch of playa haters up in here. This is gonna be fucken great and we all know it.

ok. likewise sorry if i sounded antagonistic. but you should definitely check out this list. whether it's the 'best' music of the year is obviously a problematic idea but they do cover a broad range of stuff here. sufjan, grimes kurt vile and father john misty are my personal faves from the AV club's selections.

So why not make a bit of effort instead of complaining that you don't know any of the bands? Most of this stuff is really good and not what you are assuming to be 'chart music.'

huh. that's the one song i always skip on it.

what? i'm 30 and know all of these bands. try harder.

I admit, I got carried away by the soapy Passions-esque plotline of this episode, for the most part. I thought it was forgivable until Cole (who has been a good character up until now) suddenly went off about the 'curse' being real. What, are we doing supernatural shit now? That bums me out. And are we supposed to

…when was this? I used to be at the arty all the time about 8 or 9 years ago…

had nooooo idea this guy was aussie. huh.

i could get down to this. do you have any recommendations?

oh man. so there is some questionable dialogue and some pretty hollow, archetypal characters in this show (frank in particular, although he does get better in the following episodes), but i just wanted to say…

i am SUPER excited to watch this. it has so many things that i like. philip k, dick, alternate history, 'BBC aesthetic' (i'm australian, love all that shit), slow-burning plot. can't wait.

What the fuck, you did not just compare Bieber to Revolver. Also what do you mean wasn't produced by Skrillex.

yeah but that doesn't involve the attempted suicide of the main character, followed by the real-life suicide of the author.

Who says Dev is a dick? I was thinking as I was watching the show, 'wow it's actually refreshing to see a positive, genuinely caring, enthusiastic and nice protagonist on a sitcom for a change.' Of course there are times where his offhand comments and bad ideas get him into trouble, and that's where the emotional

I honestly wonder if it is a deliberate choice not to teach The Bell Jar in schools cause of it's reputation as the stereotypical 'depressed young woman's go-to novel.' When I read it as a 24-year old male, it left me in a funk for weeks. It might not be such a good idea to encourage emotionally fragile teenagers to

I got the impression (or at least I wanted to believe) that Alison's reading of the novel was mostly projecting her own insecurities into his writing.

So I really like this show, the performances and the writing and the way they don't shy away from Awkward Moments in the Sex Lives of Adults.

i don't get it either. it also sits awkwardly with me when you read about how all the speedrunners exploit frame-specific memory leaks and stuff like that. doesn't seem like it's in the spirit of … whatever it is they are trying to achieve with speedruns.

this comment made me laugh like an idiot for some reason
