I said I would be surprised if Dior and Sephora used the same formulas. And everyone uses different means to achieve the colors they want.

He looked amazing. I think the blue hair was the right touch—you want to work a look, not a costume, right?
Ricci was in Westwood, yes (as was Zachary Quinto).
Zachary Quinto looked good!
Agreed. Dodai, on what planet—or universe—could that dress ever, ever be considered flattering? It smashed down all her beautiful curves and made her look like a Laura Ashley ottoman. And the mutant fingered sleeves (gleeves?)? Icing on the whole rotten cake.
Given the cost differential, yes, I actually would be surprised if they were using the same formulas/vendor for the Sephora items as they were for brands like Benefit, Dior, etc. For a lipstick and glosses, there are a lot of resources. And it's less brand by brand than it is shade by shade—certain shades require…
You are correct, the materials that are used to provide the pigments are often the culprits. Though if you ask the FDA, the levels are nothing to be concerned about...
Natural does not=safe. Lead is an element and a natural material, after all. And many natural essential oils are not safe for direct contact with skin, etc. Safety testing is important whether a product is marketed as natural or not...
Just because they are owned by the same parent company does not mean they utilize the same formulas. Unlike conglomerates like P&G, L'Oreal, Lauder and Coty, who actually formulate and produce a lot of their own stuff, specialty/niche brands owned by LVMH and similar companies with relatively smaller distribution…
Exactly. It's true to it's time.
You should give the show a try—it is really a distillation of the best parts of the books without being bogged down by inconsequential details and too many characters (I've read all of them).
Is it possible that this story getting play in order to make an example out of Smith? A passive aggressive warning to next year's hopefuls that you need to take this stuff seriously?
Yes, the tutoring situation is true. But there were/are many colleges who look the other way when it comes to bad behavior/character issues for their sports stars. At my college, if you broke the athletic code, you didn't get to play (it didn't matter if you were the top scorer or we were in the Final Four or you were…
OK, and it you don't have the money to pay for an athletic academy, you just don't get to play sports. Yeah, that's fair. A well-rounded education involves more than just academics.
Not only that, but who is paying for this? We have community sports in the US—I was on my school's soccer team, but I also played in a community league during the off season. The community leagues involve fees that are paid by the participant. So if you're poor, you don't get to play organized sports? That's not fair.
I think both are valuable in a school setting. In the current economic climate, many towns barely have the funds to keep their police and fire departments staffed up. They don't have the money to sponsor free sports for kids. When I played extracurricular sports, my parents paid a fee to cover expenses (equipment,…
That is such huge generalization I don't know where to start. First off, that's not the case with all sports, it's the case with sports in some schools. In my high school, being on the football or basketball team didn't make you an alpha kid, it just made you someone who was on a sports team. No big. I went to a…
Getting rid of sports is not the answer. Athletic programs are valuable for the development of young people and teach them skills they will need later in life (working as a team, discipline, etc.). Not to mention that in the world of video games and iPhones, it's often the only time children are actually active.
Heidi Klum worked with VS until she was 37. If a model is lucky, she can work with VS to cement her as a brand unto herself (Heidi, Tyra, Miranda and Gisele). The current crop hoping to use VS as a stepping stone to mega-mogul-dum: Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel.
Totally agree that tanning in the sun and via tanning beds is totally harmful to your health and, ultimately, your looks. Not worth it, and people need to take all the measures outlined above to protect their skin from an early age.
