This furthers the argument for buying a large tablet over a laptop in my house....

I’ve always wondered about how long you can keep rice in a rice cooker on warm. Now I know! And anyone with a rice cooker who doesn’t eat rice every day knows full well there is some sort of bacteria that has the potential to grow. I’ve had some gnarly disasters I’ve had to clean out of my rice cooker, and I know I’m…
NOOOOOOOO NOT FIREFLY!
I barely want to drive that route, never mind run it. Totally impressed. Congratulations!
All these smart things are making us dumb.
I’ll stick to my regular door locks and dumb refrigerators, thanks.
Everyone who attended totally appreciated the food, there were no complaints about the time, date or lack of alcohol and my friends and I had a blast cooking and serving people who appreciated the party. And we later ate the leftovers and had a fantastic time.
I guess this is just my idea of a party, then.
Throwing parties, in my experience, can be a soul-sucking venture -- people complain about the date, say they can’t come, or do say they will come and just flat-out not show up; you spend money on food for people who complain about it, and then others complain about a lack of alcohol, when they know full well you…
No offense to the author, but my favorite part of these articles is the comments. I love to hear about other people’s journeys and what they did to get past their obstacles.
This is basically what they do on Deadspin.
Three kids later and I have literally no core strength.
Totally agree. But I still dislike that algorithm.
A lot is written and said about bad men and bad husbands. Not nearly enough is similarly written or said about good men and husbands. So I appreciate this writer’s last love letter to her husband. As much as she styles it as a sort of dating profile for her husband, its also unsaid that she is giving him permission to…
Speaking as a mother of three boys with a history of birth complications, I imagine it depends on the procedure and its outcome. For example, I was administered magnesium sulfate to prevent seizures during the birth of my first son. I was emphatic with my husband that I NEVER wanted that stuff again — not only did it…
Let the rewriting of history begin!

I love this showdown. I use an off-brand app called MyNetDiary, but have been wondering about whether I should try MFP. Looks like I should try Lose It instead! Can anyone tell me if either app includes a calorie calculator, as in you list the ingredients of a recipe to get the nutritional info? Hubby and I make most…
Saving this to show my husband when he pooh-poohs the thought of camping. I have three young boys, and my two oldest will be in 4th grade back to back!
Just downloaded all three. Classic Lifehacker post!
I read historical fiction voraciously, especially when it comes to Greece, Rome, England and Egypt, with some Asia thrown in there — and I always do some frantic Googling and research after every book to try and mesh a little reality with what I just read. I really would love to get into this podcast, but I actually…
I’m 14 years in, and I totally agree.
