Then you try to go straight to the company.
That glow toilet bowl thing would have really come in handy when I was pregnant.

As soon as someone asks a rote question like this, walk away. You don’t want to work there.
Aw, that’s rough. That’s why the lack of parental leave in this country is such a travesty — parents should not feel compelled to return to work so soon after the birth or adoption of a child. Bringing another person into the world or the family is an earth shaking event, for anyone. It’s great that they at least…
This is not a good development and IMO yet another reason why I would never want to deal with an HOA. HOA’s are run by boards made up of regular people that have the ability to wreak havoc on your life — make you pay fees for whatever petty grievance over something you did to your own home, actually foreclose on your…
Right? I felt like Kelly Hu’s Lady Deathstrike getting pumped full of adamantium in X2.
OK. I’m all for having the choice, and if she *wanted* to go back sooner rather than later, then awesome.
I don’t know about this. The nurses see way more than they let on. I remember, in my drug-induced haze after the emergency C-section and the effects of magnesium wearing off, hearing the nurses talk about how concerned my husband was, and how nice he was.
I was excited, but it was a sort of feeling like “here is a brand new person I’ve never met before.”
This time I was at least in labor and delivery though. I think all in all it was a five hours process. Had him on Thursday, went home on Saturday, was at work on Monday.
Here’s a little secret not all parents share because it feels wrong: You might not feel anything for your new baby when you meet him or her at first.
I don’t know if this is just a California thing, but I’ve also noticed that lanes with a block lines — as opposed to your normal, long traffic lane lines — are about to end. So if you’re in a right lane with a block line, you might accidentally exit the freeway.
Born and bred in LA, so I’ve spent a lot of time in both…
EVERY WEEK.
EVERY WEEK.
I disagree on the toys or coloring/activity books. I just picked up a Big Hero 6 coloring book and a Spider-Man activity book from the 99 cent store (along with actual Arm & Hammer baking soda, which was 79 cents, not 99 cents). I recently took my kid to Dollar Tree to pick something out as a reward for getting on the…
I second this. Aren’t there occasional meet ups? Wish they would be on weekends, though!
Unexpected death in the family. Before my husband and I had kids, we were actually really good about saving, but then his brother died unexpectedly, and everyone in the family had to pitch in to help pay for his funeral. Wiped out half our savings.
Bonus: when you manage to quiet a fussy baby, YOU FEEL LIKE A SUPERHERO.
Apology not needed, but 100% accepted. Your reply was not as hostile as others, really.
As I explained to another childless friend, I know times have changed and that while there are a large number of people who don’t want kids and don’t want to have anything to do with them, there is also a sizeable number of people…
My sister absolutely has every right in the world to say no to changing diapers. I also have every right to say no when she’s like, “I want to spend time with the boys!!!!” They kind of go together.
