this is progress right now, for a woman living with the “guilt” of having an abortion as a catholic. This is progress for a woman who cannot be a part of her community for having an abortion. It’s progress for women living in catholic countries, and a road towards safety and better reproductive rights for them.

same, i was raised very catholic, though i was always atheist in my heart of hearts (i think at least, like i can’t remember a time where i viewed religion differently than i viewed fairy tales).

oh my god i am in the same boat as you (only not pregnant) and i really wanted to have a kid and we’ve been moving in that direction...now i have an appointment to get a longer acting IUD.

and for women who are freely and devoutly catholic. i agree.

i get the snark, but really, for women of faith, this is a huge deal to them. Right or wrong, they feel like they’ve sinned and need forgiveness. This is a good thing. This is one of those moments where we can step out of our bubble a little bit and understand the progress that this is for faithful Catholics.
