i kinda think thats the point, everyone is interpreting it differently

Yeah, my dad wouldn't have been able to sing that song, and I'm positive still wouldn't recognize it.

It's more of a meta argument, not within the context of the show. It's more of a criticism of Daniels for writing/filming it than the characters doing it, you know?

I just mentioned that above to someone else, I need someone who's never seen the show to watch it to see if it's as funny as it was to me. I feel like it was a pretty good intro episode…

I actually watched an episode of "hollywood game night" on hulu because she was on it. She's a goddamned treasure.

last week had a few anachronistic jokes (one of the kids referencing his "brand") and this week shoe horned the 90's references in a little too hard at the beginning ("can i have money to go to sam goody?")

Me too! I feel like I missed so much of it because i couldn't handle my laughter.

The whole music video thing left me dizzy from laughing so hard. God, this whole thing was so perfect.
"I don't have any children friends"

Can you report back whether this episode worked for you, having not seen the rest of it? I'm thinking this might be the perfect primer episode for people who have never watched it, but since I know stuff that went before it, it might have been funnier to me.

I just did this the other day with Green Day, another band I hate. Why am I so good at this with bands I hate?

What kind of love are you on?!?!

Anika could be an amazing foil to cookie if she was a full fledged character.

A lion would have been so much smarter! Whomever said that is a smart cookie.
And it could have drawn comparison to the whole Cecile the Lion debacle.

Does anyone else keep reading "Ludacris" everytime they see "Lucious"? With Ludacris being on the show, it's very hard to keep it straight for me.

Between black people being referred to as "apes" throughout history and the fact that they are doing a send up of #blacklivesmatter around a man who is actually guilt, there's a lot of iffy stuff there that a lot of people could find offensive. I sort of don't have an opinion on any of it except I prayed to

I love the dramatic music every time there is a "twist" or "betrayal" that happens like every 5 minutes. It's just beautiful and I love how hard they are leaning into the glorious camp.

same!

I dunno, I thought "rainbow sensation" was some weird urban dictionary sex thing that involves pee and skittles.

This so hard!!!! Oh my god, it's really hard to watch. And that's on top of the "hard to watch" that is watching Terrance Howard NOT singing/rapping.

I was singing "roll out" during every commercial break.
