Yah but that thing is not an off road convertible, not even pretending to be one. It’s a CUV Sebring at best.

You want to pour even more money it to it? Low mileage swap and labor and all the extras not in the budget [redo the brakes, suspension, bushings, springs etc... to handle the extra poop] - $3k if you’re doing much of it yourself, $6k is more like it plus 3-4 months down time. Let it go. Not worth it. Just back away.
