Hamilton is largely responsible for F1 making BILLIONS over the last several years. There was only me and like 6 other guys in the States following F1 before Lewis in 2007. Some of these old F1 guys remarks don’t even seem relevant today and come off as angry and bitter.  Jackie Stewart was a clothes horse back in the

Saying that racism is so embedded in culture that they don’t know they are being racist isn’t the flex you think.

I’m generally a fan of Jackie Stewart as he used to be my late father’s favorite of that era, but of late Jackie’s statements towards Lewis retiring seem at best snarky but generally sound a lot more uncomfortable in their tone.  There is no language barrier there for sure but between things he’s said in the past

From what I understand the word Piquet used was “negao” which translates to “big black” and is very commonly used in Brazil to refer to anyone who is black and or dark skinned. In Brazil it is not a racial slur. It does not even come close to the connotations associated with the N word in English. Brazil did not fight

Thanks for reminding me about the language thing. I was thinking along that line but was confusing Piquet with Prost. Not really a viable explanation. Certainly not for rich international types no matter what country they're from.

One of the main reasons I have had issues with F1 over the years, are the baldly racist and antisemitic antics of Ecclestone and his sycophants.

Owen, I am all for condemning Piquet comments and yes, as an Hamilton fan , he suffered from racism all his career and this is unacceptable.

Calling an entire generation “archaic and hateful” is just as wrong as Piquet’s slur. If you think prejudice is related to age, think again. Or open a history book.

Piquet is a piece of trash. He is also adament that Senna was gay and still uses it against him in derogatory ways.

Financial outlay to get a credit card? I’m sorry what?

Ah there it is, I remember why I hate this website. SJWs telling me to check my privilege because they’ve made poor financial decisions

Yeah, like that public transit is an option.

Counterpoint: Never visit Buy-Here-Pay-Here lots.

It’s a little high mileage for the price, lots of church and golf club runs.

“(gasoline) infrastructure that will only be disused in 15 years”

That was the 1970s and early 80s.

$7-a-gallon gas is probably enough whip to get more buyers interested regardless of purchase incentives.

Really love the V50... and very nearly bought one back in the day. 2005 me thought it would be a great upgrade from the Mazda3 I had at the time.

Nah, I lived damn near 30 years in Maine. I’m in geezer-ville south Florida now. I’ve seen this show lots of times before.

Reluctant No Dice from me. That’s more than a couple of years worth of underbody rust; I think this rig’s time in Seattle might’ve contributed more than a bit to the cause.
