Actually the cash for clunkers shit show was REALLY to sell new cars/trucks in an attempt to save the US car makers, and stimulate the ruined economy. The rest was just typical Washington bullshit. Same as it ever was.

Kit cars are for the guy who feels that his parents, friends, and life DID not abuse him enough. Some folks just enjoy pain. Am not one of those folks, but YMMV. CP forever.

Perhaps the average selling price of anything new is a factor in the amount of time folks are holding on to their rides. We own 2  13 yr old cars. The main reason is that the new stuff is stupidly expensive, and we don’t want to spend thousands on tons of bullshit tech that we are forced to buy on the newer rides.  …

Having seen a few bearskin rugs and wall hangings in cops homes in the West, I tend to wonder when, or if “those good old days ever ended.” This story is not uncommon though, the cops tend to go all out to “escort” critters out west very often.

So my question is this: Everyone says the gov. made this mess (inflation), by giving everyone MONEY thru Covid. Does anyone really believe this rationale? A few grand from Uncle Sam did not make most folks with brains run out and start spending like a fool...Greed seems the precursor of most inflation I ever see. YMMV.
