I still think it’s absurd this is considered a “kids” universe and series. Just because they wanted to cash in on “kid” “friendly” cartoons.

You’re right, we should just not care about anything if spotlights can’t always be pointed on every single thing you can think of. Every place on Earth has terrible shit happening, if people caring about any of them is somehow a negative you might be fucked in the head.

Was about to say the same thing but you said it more eloquently/less rudely. Cause sweet jesus is the braindead whataboutism responses getting old fast.

Since when has Nintendo released a war game set in the modern ear which rages war against brown people? If Blue Moon was not so obvious Russia and the game did not start with them invading another country, then maybe your complaint would have some merit. But Advance Wars is a direct parallel to current events.

Advance Wars has always been that IP in Nintendo’s family-friendly portfolio that they don’t want. I’m less surprised they delayed the game due to real-world conflict (understandable call btw) than I am that Nintendo was re-releasing/remastering the game in the first place.

As progressive as Kotaku and it’s readers have a reputation for, nobody starred the post from an actual Japanese person--an insightful one too. Here ya go, I enjoyed this update.

Good on him for calling it out in a very public setting.

The company I work for has several Ukrainian team members. I work with few of them directly and daily. The company owner gave out a statement of solidarity and of course assurances of paid leave and such. But it is just disheartening how helpless we feel to truly help them currently. Most of them have been offline

If anyone wants to write a browser extension that lets me know when I’m consuming content from racists, I’d appreciate it.

That’s... actually one of the more gracious ways to admit cheating I’ve ever seen. Admitting, deleting all the fake stuff, and paying back the money. Deleting the socials is probably a wise decision for his own sake. More people should do that regardless of admission of guilt.

Yeah, here’s hoping Microsoft cleans house and gets rid of all of the Acti-Blizz executives and management, while retaining the programmers, artists, and other lower level employees. That’s the only reasonable first step toward fixing the shitty work environment that was ingrained in the company’s corporate culture.

Yeah, I think purging with fire is probably going to be the smartest way that MS can navigate this acquisition. I’m also betting we will see some major changes with their org structure after the deal is completed.

It’s theoretically possible they could.  Saying, “We’re gonna knife this fucker in the back the moment the ink is dry” isn’t something you can or should say while the deal isn’t even final.

Its laughable to believe Microsoft wants anything to do with Bobby Kotick or honestly the vast majority of staff at Activision.

Here I was hoping Microsoft would stab Kotick in the back by preparing a binder full of just cause for firing after everything is said and done. Kotick sucks up so much potential gaming content with that pay grade and leaving costs as much as a low level MCU film.

Seriously, fuck this guy.

I think that Halo 3, at least in my world, was the last time I remember genuinely enjoying multiplayer and that was mostly down to custom games.

I mean, even Activision isn’t the Worst Company in America. Like, there’s companies who are actively working to drive humanity to extinction at a faster rate or are willing to risk the outright destruction of our economy because that’s what makes them money. Activision-Blizzard is utter shit, but even they’re not in

“The requirement that employees must speak with the company before contacting the state department.”

All this work to look worse instead of just firing the people that are responsible and restructuring their management. Activision Blizz, sometimes saving face just means doing the right thing.
