There was an opinion piece on some conservative website a couple days ago basically blaming the anti-gun, March for Our Lives students for the visible ID/Clear backpack policies now in place at the school. Their argument leaned on the whole security vs freedom argument saying that the kids want safety then they

I don’t know how anyone that runs on the “run the country like my business” platform could approach it any other way.

Money is Trump’s primary measure of value and the direct exchange of it the only way he can understand a relationship to work. It’s visible in his interactions with women but it’s also seen in how he expects to interact with other countries. Like the whole “everyone in NATO has to pay their share,” his constant

I think you’re being facetious (this down is up, dry is raining, empty is the most watched innaguration ever world we live in has dulled my sense of it) but I firmly believe that for the people that voted for him, cheating on his wife, unprotected, with a Playboy playmate only strengthens their support of him.

AV Club posted a retrospective review of Batman Returns that started with this very sad truth,

At least the shoe gum was once delicious...unless it was Bazooka Joe

“I guess if he was able to read past the 4th Amendment he might know some of this stuff...”

I thought this was equal parts amusing and sad. From AVClub’s retrospective review of Batman Returns:

As I pointed out to my mother the other day, Satan kills far fewer people in the bible than God does

“So, we want to look at things that really provide for everybody and doesn’t impede the rights of one for the sake of the other.”

I tried to answer that a few posts below. My mom has a very cynical view of, not just of American politics but of America as a whole, in part, I’d imagine because she was raised by a Mexican family and Mexico and the US don’t have the best historical past.

As others have pointed out, Trump will never get impeached until Congress changes hands. The Republicans have shown that they are more than willing to aid and abet Trump’s madness. If by some miracle impeachment proceedings are begun, you know the republicans will softball/half-ass it the same way the House mishandled

I guess I’ll go with The Incredible Hulk, which was certainly less thoughtful and less interesting than Ang Lee’s 2003 film and, thus, didn’t provide as much insight into the character. Maybe that’s what makes it seem worse?

Thank you! There are so many lists that put Civil War on the top of not just the best Marvel movies but also as one of the best comic book movies of all time. I just don’t agree. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of a conflict that fractures the heroes’ loyalties and pits them against each other (the trailer was

My mom’s always had a very cynical view, not just of American politics (which is likely why she doesn’t vote), but of America itself; considering some of the past history between Mexico and the US, that’s somewhat understandable. So I wonder if it’s not so much that she thinks Trump is so great but that as far as

Ugh, my mom’s pretty much a full on Trump supporter and I wish listening to her, as much as I can stand to, would shed some light on why people support him but it’s just denial of reality. She doesn’t watch Fox news but she’ll watch the news on PBS and you can basically hear her running commentary through the whole

North Korea: “Miss, just how much of a racist idiot is your father? On a 10 point scale is he an 8 or a 10?”
