My fiancee and I tried to get into Tera recently.

I was on the VR fence until trying an Oculus demo in a local Best Buy. It really is quite an experience (I did the rock climbing demo) that is hard to describe.

I was tempted at $800, and at $600 it’s going to be even more difficult to resist.

I’ve tried Final Fantasy: Tactics, Fire Emblem: Awakening, XCom: Enemy Territory, various Disgaeas, and others like Rainbow Moon.

Just finished The Last of Us for the first time, so I’ll be jumping into Left Behind which I should finish just in time for Horizon: Zero Dawn on Tuesday. :)

It doesn’t fix the actual issue of preserving the original, but it’s nice to know that ROM hackers can very easily remove his unnecessary splash screen and header. The other alterations will still be there, but the most visible parts of his signature can be easily erased.

I don’t think they were necessarily going for DOOM. It looks more like Goldeneye 007 to me, but without the awful texture filtering. And (quick Google search) Goldeneye was a 1997 release, so still technically “90s style”.

This is nothing like Pokemon Uranium. This was a hack of an already existing game. The fact that Nintendo is waving their lawyers around and trying to set a precedent against ROM hacking is disgusting.

I enjoyed Lost Odyssey, but I consider it the game that killed that style of turn-based combat forever. It was far slower than it needed to be and I think it gave everyone the impression that turn-based systems like that one HAD to be slow and monotonous.
