What is this from?

I'm not sure it's germane to compare bodies to trash. The former is >150lbs and awkward in size and shape. The latter, considering it came to Base Camp in a backpack, can be packed out, similarly.

I don't think the idea is the fitness = rhythm, but more that athletes already possess many of the traits required of dancers, like strength, flexibility, coordination, and proprioception.

I am NOT a health professional, but struggled against bad posture and rolled shoulders for years. Yoga fixed all that, and more.

Same here.

This is the most poised, elegant 7th grader I've ever seen.

That's a great story about Scott and Weaver, and of course, I agree with the sentiment of your Gunn quote. As viewer, though, how does one know if a strong performance is the result of good direction or good acting? That's where I get lost.

Ellen is more likable than funny, but I did laugh during her introduction of an AMPAS executive when she said, "Some people need no introduction. This woman is not one of them."

Probably.

Fair enough. As a casual movie fan, I'll be the first the acknowledge I can't differentiate good direction from bad.

I'm not sure in what ways you think Gravity is being overrated, but AMPAS (and most viewers) seem to believe it didn't distinguish itself in its writing or performance (Bullock nomination, aside) but that it was technically and visually extraordinary.

Just noticed you dismissed my comment and was curious what I said that you disagreed with, so strongly.

I think it's just a question of having to arbitrarily draw a line, somewhere.

Nobody at Jezebel is going to sour on Lupita because as strong as many commenters' urge is to turn on the talented/beautiful/charming, their urge to be seen as "like-oh-my-god-so-enlightened" is far stronger.

Redacted because Kinja won't display photo.

The Riley Cooper thing.

A for-profit business trying to boost its revenue through the guise of empowering women? Now what would Jezebel.com know about that?!?

"Steve Elkington's Twitter features . . . a cocktail of bad jokes and mildly offensive thoughts."

"Still, Dunham . . . doesn't take herself too seriously."

It's possible to understand a teaching but not be ready or able to implement it.
