people underestimate how true this is.

It’s not a young person thing - the sister is a narcissist. She’s addicted to the free attention and support being preggers gets her, and probably sees her sister’s wedding as competition. More than likely, she’s banking on being able to use them to start some kind of scene to steal the limelight.

“Less” is fine when using countable things (like “persons” in the above). However, it would be more appropriate to use “fewer” if the writer used a singular noun that indicated a mass number, such as “people” instead of “person.”

This is amazing — thoroughly researched, relentlessly argued and really compellingly written. Thank you for making my morning with it!

Well, yeah, I mean, it sucks how Donnie hands out critical government roles to people based on their ability to somehow not make fun of his orange rind, or hair, or face that could charitably be called ‘the textbook definition of jowly’, but Ambassador to the Vatican? That’s pretty benign, and speaks more to an

I thought she sounded arrogant and stubborn in the interview, which is not that surprising since those tendencies likely contributed to her losing in the first place. She had smart answers but also seemed unwilling to accept that her “smart” approach actually wasn’t all that smart in a changing America. Sounded like

I (and many others) voted for her but just wish she would move on and allow the (D) party to heal enough to have a chance in the upcoming midterms in 2018. The Bernie/Hillary wars have done an immense amount of damage to the ranks. Unless this party and all its opposing factions can come together within the next 12-14

Yeah, I get the feeling that their split was more about the difficulties of his recovering addiction paired with her ‘wilder’ lifestyle than about not liking each other...

Reconciliation doesn’t have to mean get back together romantically. It can just mean he wants to be able to be friends. Given how respectfully they’ve spoken of each other since they split, it seems totally possible to me.

Lost touch with the Democrat base? Maybe. Clinton tried the big tent approach with ideas tossed out that were designed to draw in the “just right of center.” Obviously it didn’t work because in today’s America, trying to be middle of the road makes you roadkill.

Born and raised in Illinois, political career started in Arkansas, but ended up living in New York like some elitist rich jerk. That life kind of says she has no soul. No place matters to her. They are all just stepping stones. Compare that to Obama. Obama is an elitist but at least you can tell he loves Chicago.

She didn’t “get it.” People were suffering in the midwest... she ignored them, because she thought she had the election all sewn up and she didn’t need them. They responded to her arrogance by handing her a devastating loss. Even Michigan, a reliable Democratic stronghold, went with Trump instead.

My mom had a green thumb. Lots of houseplants and flowerbeds all around the yard. My sister inherited her green thumb. Mine is brown, dry, and shriveled. But I just moved to a new apartment with souther exposure, so I might try a couple of forgiving houseplants.

King does write the worst sex scenes, especially when he tries to write them from a female perspective. To be fair, most male authors are terrible at this.

I thought he was high AF on cocaine when he wrote it. Made sense to me (in that vein).

I’ve had a spider plant for about 10 years now, that was originally a baby spiked off of Grandma’s spider plant that was AT LEAST 40-50 years old. Couldn’t kill that damn thing if I tried, and it is conspiring with the philodendron (another of Grandma’s progeny) to take over my entire living room.

When I was growing up watering my mom’s houseplants was an hour long task. There were so many I would lose track and have to check to see if I had watered a given one already.

I have my grandmothers xmas cactus which we can confirm existed in 1927. No wat to confirm earlier, but this is woody as hell and blooms every year now that it is in the south. Thank you Agnes!
