This is only a few miles from my house. It’s crazy how strong the wind was today, we’ve already lost several branches to the wind alone to deal with, but my heart goes out to those without a home to come back to. This hit hard and fast, and I just hope everyone made it out okay!

So when is the the spoiler cutoff for this movie? Because everybody’s still dancing around those big spoilers, but they aren’t doing a very good job. I actually read this headline from another movie news web site last week:

I feel like just about every character in this movie was well-sketched. Norman Osbourne and Otto Octavius continued to have just as much depth as they did before, Electro got so much more pathos, and even Lizard and Sandman were solid. Plus, Ned and MJ got to have complex emotions to sort through, and Aunt May? Well,…

So cathartic, touching, heartbreaking and poignant, all in one moment. I am not ashamed to admit I got misty-eyed.

It’s reassuring to know that while certain other franchises might stumble with their final acts, superhero movies are at least getting a new lease on closure.

Beyond their functions in the story and performances, which are wonderful, I loved that this movie is a pretty great capstone for both Maguire and Garfield. Some kiddies may not know this, but back in pre-2008 times, superhero movies weren’t written with clear finishes for certain characters like Batman (Nolan-Verse)…

It’s one of those payoffs that everyone should know is coming -- the commercials of MJ falling out of reach of MCU!Peter pretty much telegraphs the redemption spot for Amazing!Peter -- but it’s so well-placed, well-earned, well-acted (Garfield’s expression after landing with MJ in his arms is beyond perfect), it’s…

I can’t say I ever really like Garfield’s take on Spider-Man before now, but he really brought it to this movie. When MJ has to ask him “Are you okay?” after he’s saved her, it’s a testament to how he sells the complex emotions he’s going through.

So let’s take a bunch of “positive” who may be contagious and throw them back into the healthcare workforce to take care of people and possible infect them creating more patients and another healthcare worker shortage. Brilliant.

Maybe if the ruling class pushed “vaccines are good! Get vaccinated!” instead of “vaccines will turn the frogs gay so think what they’ll do to you!!!”
