I'd played the original, but had no idea there was a SSF2 or SSC coming out. This makes me incredibly excited, and wish for a new version of Super Mario Sunshine 64 as well

Wait, a level 11 gets 3 attacks per weapon? Is that a specific perk of the teo-weapon fighting skill? (On phone so don't have the PDF).
The tracking of ongoing effects was definitely a pain. Auras weren't too bad from my experience, but tracking ongoing effects, especially weirdly-equivalent ones like allies getting bonuses to hit enemies and the same enemies getting penalties to their defense against specific allies was frustrating.
Low level? None. That's why the trope is called linear fighters, quadratic wizards.
Ah, I stand corrected on the fighter. I'm not familiar with the system to fully know what abilities and such factor into their damage.
100 damage at 8th level in 5e? Please, enlighten me. Best I can figure is topping around maaaybe 50 tops, and that's assuming he's hitting for max damage with both attacks, critting, and has a couple of feats building it upwards too.
Well, I just laid out a huge amount of the math there for you already, but when I get the time I'll see if I can more exhaustively get an answer for you. I am completely confident it will be the same result though.
Well, Magic Missile was just used to demonstrate damage. Fireball is actually far more effective and damaging of a choice, as is Cone of Cold and a variety of other spell options.
True, and this is all very doable. I just dislike DMing game systems where I have to babysit one class or another so make sure they don't overshadow the rest of the group.
Yeah. People complain that they don't feel different enough, but you actually have a huge array of builds you can make even within a single class, and you can easily make ones that feel incredibly different. The differences are subtle just reading them without playing the character, but a dude with an at-will that is…
Ah, didn't take into account the extra attacks (2/round for lvl 10, and 4/round for lvl 20). So 27 attacks from lvl 10 fighter and 23 from lvl 10. However, this also ignores the offset damage that wizards would get because I didn't factor in their 2d10/lvl10 or 4d10/lvl20 Fire Bolt cantrip (Which does require a roll…
Did you mean the Basic DMG? If so, it's already out.
What, in 5e? or 3e? In 3e especially, a CoDzilla can outshine literally any other class, and has been exhaustively proven to do so. I'd bet that 5e will have similar problems as well with overpowered fighters. True, a minmaxed fighter can outshine a regular wizard, but I'd eat my hat if a minmaxed fighter can…
What was it that broke it past 8th level?
Pathfinder is nice if you're a fan of 3e, but one thing to keep in mind is both PF and 3e (And looking like 5e as well) have issues with "Linear Fighter, Quadratic Wizard." This is basically an issue where the classes are roughly equivalent, usually with the fighter slightly more powerful than the wizard, but as the…
Interesting. I know my 4e group loves when I let fighters do crazy stuff with their powers like that, using them in unexpected ways out of combat and using the environment for better play in combat, but then again, my spellcasting characters (Again, in 4e) do the same thing, using spells to fling debris or create…
Well, wizards can pour out obscenely more damage, both in 3e and here in 5e as well.
Well, what levels have you been running at, and have the fighters had more combat options than "I swing my sword, and maybe add an extra combat die"? From everything I've seen looking through it there's very much a linear fighter/quadratic wizard vibe throughout the whole thing.
I'm still incredibly gunshy about the questionable-at-best balance behind the scenes, and the return of wizards with buckets of spells that cover the bases of the rest of the parties versus "I hit it with my sword" fighters.
Ok, so while I don't have the cash to shell out for an Occulus, does anyone know if you can hack* Cardboard to play OR games/programs?
