From what I know, the question of how long the rings can last is still up in the air. Traditionally it was believed that they were a transient structure, but since the discovery of the shepherding moons and more research, it’s possible that they’re much longer lived than we though before.

I don't get why someone would comment on somthing before even reading anything other than the headline.
