"Oh no, my friend. This is a mistake, a terrible mistake. They have gone too far, this is madness!"

I all fairness, the "flashbacks" in that film are almost feature length.

Five 'Blades and a series!

I'm an enormous Bond fan and I think that Goldfinger, while it has some legendary imagery and lines, is a pretty poor film. The entire production feels really cheap and American, like everything was shot on a Hollywood backlot, and I can't get over it. Not Bond at all. Plus, they final act takes place in Kentucky.

Are you kidding me? Go back and watch You Only Live Twice, or On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The old films were dripping with beautiful cinematography, which falls perfectly in line with Fleming's writing (which could be a little travel log-esque)

Don't forget Jedi Master Klu-Poon.

I think there is a case for Admiral Piett as well.
My personal favorite though? General Motti, what an indignant, arrogant bastard.

Pussy.

Not that I'd ever want to see it remade, but Quentin Tarantino's Rashomon would be the only way to go. Reservoir Dogs is essentially a film about something that happens off screen, but Rashomon is an entire discussion about something that happens offscreen. Basically Tarantino dialog for two hours. "Dune" - A Paul Thomas Wes Anderson Film.

The answer for The Spy Who Loved Me is easy: Spielberg. Of course, the Bond producers (who have always been American) have that fucking hangup where they won't hire a non-British director, which has been extended to only Commonwealth directors. My god, Roger Spottiswoode has directed a Bond film but Spielberg can't…
And

The worst part is, after he lost out on Jedi he also lost out on Bond. Octopussy or Moonraker would've been greatly improved by him (I quite like For Your Eyes Only as is).

I prefer the plans to have John Boorman direct Lord of the Rings in the late 1970s. The rumors are fascinating. The Beatles were supposed to play the four Hobbits with Paul as Frodo. Let me repeat that.

We're Bibb fortunate to be getting any Star Wars movies at all.

Leigh Brackett isn't the unsung hero of Star Wars though. I've read her Empire Strikes Back draft and it is brutal.

You must be joking**

Coogan is remarkable. His impressions are some of the best around. "The Trip" is a must for anyone who enjoys impressions. Him and Rob Brydon sparring with their Michael Caines is classic, but there's SO much more in there.
