The problem is that the ‘once its sorted part’ will likely mean the UK is in shambles because it is no longer economically viable to have as much business there.

Wow, in the US that kind of business savvy gets you the Oval Office.

They just like to crap on GM. They also like to crap on SUVs. Put them together and you get empty commentary like that.

Both the Traverse and Enclave are good solid vehicles. Because you don’t like them doesn’t make them bad.

Ram is mortgaging their future residual values just to temporarily cling to the number 2 spot (which isn’t even going to last).

This is the correct take.

I’m not sure what you mean by properly transition. Every auto maker does this. Jalopnik is just obsessed with GM.

Everyone does an end of year clearance, end of a generation is markedly more for good reason.

You act like there are the only ones with a big discount. Ram 1500 is consistently offering 40% cash discount plus smaller stackable incentives.
Gotta hit that “hate on GM” quota though, right.
Current inventory clearance in advance of a new generation is all part of new product rollout no matter what industry.

Local dealer is doing 25% off Rams. If they're all as great as the commercials day they were they could sell without rebates.

That’s not how it works. In a few months GM will give the Final Pay rebate directly to the dealership and tin will be 100% their problem.

I understand your shrinkage perspective. But the markets they are pulling out of would likely take such a large investment short term to see positive growth and profit that if a downturn happens that growth never ends up happening at all and is billions down the drain. Where as it could be a relatively negligible

Right, the EV Hummer truck has a chance to break open the EV truck market. Cybertruck? Sorry but it’s a laughable curiosity that will likely never get built in anything close to current form, if ever. I don’t see many F-150 or Silverado buyers switching a a Cybertruck in current form.

Everyone shits on Caddy for trying to be all European and German. They are still very American, indeed. When was Caddy ever heard bragging about their ‘ring times, cuz I don’t remember? The CT5-V is still going to be a RWD burnout saloon, not a precise corner-carver M3.

Also, since when is the new Genesis massive-ass diamond-shaped grille “really lighting” anything up? It’s a worse version of the Acura diamond bucktooth grille, and that was met with some major criticism.

Sorry, was there a point to this article other than reinforcing staff writers not liking GM?

How can the new EV Hummer be “too little too late” when the EV market makes up a tiny tiny sliver of total auto auto sales?

His own opinion.

The Bolt and Volt have been mediocre

The show and display law was almost entirely due to Gates wanting to legally import and drive a 959.
