I’m actually curious about this. I never rented cars when going from transit hub to metro downtown. However, anything outside of those confines almost always required a car. Having a car in downtown Boston is a pain in the butt. Having a car to visit company offices in Andover or Waltham is almost a necessity.

Amazingly my local dealer did work with me online on the last day hybrid orders were open. I was able to do the whole thing through email after I told the sales rep I just didn’t have time to come on over. Agreed to MSRP, but the only kicker seems to be agreeing to dealer financing.

Neutral: It’s the time of year when people go apple picking in New England and my favorite concoction at the orchards is the cider slushy. It would be great if Ford would let you do this online, alas one must go to the dealer and provide license fill in paper work etc. All things that I just don’t have time to do at the moment. Granted, that’s a me problem as clearly Ford is having no problem selling these under those conditions.

One of my grandfather’s favorite sandwiches was a combo of two of these. Peanut butter with bacon and onions. The onions had to be white and thinly sliced. Sweetened peanut butter was key as well as soft white bread. The go to used to be JJ Nissen’s Canadian white.

I disagree that they add nothing to the equation. First, not all people buy on internet research alone. They like to see the cars and actually drive them. It’s pretty convenient that I have many places in my local area to do that. I have to drive over an hour to get that experience with a Tesla.

It's also good for the customer that big OEMs don't work this rapidly. I can't imagine how bad the QA is on that software that Tesla pivoted to.
