I’m loving a new flavor of self-checkout run by my local chain Big Y. They call it express and you use a mobile app to scan items as you go through the store. Scales are near anything that needs weighing and serve up a barcodes. So I bag while I shop. At the end you scan a code and then just walk out the store. The

While true, the concept of hailing a cab at major hubs with something as simple as a wave or a wait in line worked well. The fact that Uber pivoted to food delivery, scooters, AI driving, and who knows what else tells you how successful that “disruptive” idea of hailing rides from anywhere truly is.

Yes!

Well said. I used to travel for work quite a bit and in some parts of America Subway truly was the freshest thing I could eat. I always prefer a local joint over any chain, but the chains are what you get in some places.

Here’s a counter-counter-point.  I was ready to buy a new car and was leaning towards a MT ‘22 base Honda Civic hatch.  MSRP for that was something like $24k according to Honda.  Dealer mark ups put the price at about $30k out the door.  That’s a base model economy car.  And yes, it has way more equipment and features

All of them. It's just that the dealer takes the big with the other automakers. Tesla price raises aren't that remarkable.

Don't forget the robo taxis are due this year, next year latest.

Amen.

LOL?

Bingo.  And the design and label let everybody know you’ve paid top dollar for your wheels.

Still a lot of those in New England. Even with an influx of regional and national chain auto repair centers, every town generally has one combo gas/service center. In my town southwest of Boston, 3 out of 4 gas stations have service bays.

Great choice.  I couldn’t agree more on how their looks have grown on me over time.

Except that’s not the deal Elon signed.

I won’t say it can’t have an impact, but as you yourself observe, most people cannot work from home.

Tesla hasn’t scaled it’s service to match it’s sales.  That is a problem that will seriously bite them in the ass.  https://jamesykwak.medium.com/tesla-really-has-the-worst-customer-service-990e238261be

Presumably detect mobile OS and say, sure, go ahead.

Cybertruck is the new Microbuss concept.

Do you miss the old coin system at Big Y?

Is it just me, or do they look cramped for the passengers?  Cool, rugged, big...yes.  But that cargo/passenger area looks teeny.
