Actually, it starts up with the dark action stuff and then swings into the overly sentimental kiddie movie, and then back to the dark action again. And I kind of love it for that.

I understood the need to do it found-footage style, since that's what sells these days, but if he had done it in the style of traditional horror films, I would have liked it so much more.

This channel was exceedingly rare to come by, and didn't become semi-mainstream until about 2001…at least, that's when it entered our cable lineup in Central NJ. I kinda liked the the mix they would play.

I'm getting the feeling that most people on here are just Drive fans, and not actual Refn fans. Because if you look at his filmography, most of them are brutal and misanthopic, whereas Drive was this polished and stylized gem with an A-list cast.

That's all I could think about while reading this article. I liquidated about 90% of my CD collection sometime in 2010. I got roughly $2 or $3 per disc. And much of this was hard-to-find stuff.

I was sold immediately after watching the trailer. And it did not disappoint.

I think it's generally accepted that Jade killed off the genre.

I actually like both bands (Helmet a lot more though), but listening to their music, it's tough not to see how the style and production was borrowed by countless bands later in the decade.
