You mean 2/3/2019, when the Patriots won the Superbowl 13-3 as we all watched some of the worst offensive/best defensive football in a Superbowl?

No it isn’t. Not even close. The average AAA player makes $10k/month and it goes down from there. I am pretty sure they only get paid during the season, but can't find documentation. Total minor league salaries for an average organization are probably under $3M/year. That shouldn’t even impact the Marlins major league

ESPECIALLY when you get both parties to actually agree on something.

Who knew the key to reaching across the aisle was Hearthstone?

LMAO You know you fucked up when Congress actually does something about it.

That’s two guys who were historically dominant relievers last year who relied on straight gas and a wipeout slider, who still threw upper 90s but whose sliders lost their bite. It’s ridiculous. I watched Diaz all year. He’d blow 99 & 100 mph fastballs by guys up and in, and then the next pitch would be an 88 mph

I think Aikman has been showing more personality on general lately.

Aikman has been a lot more silly and loopy so far this year. I caught a game a few weeks ago where he couldn’t stop laughing. Kept cracking himself up at nothing all game. It wasn’t super insightful, but I kind of enjoyed it.

Why is it that quarterbacks who won a Super Bowl with Baltimore are indisputably the worst quarterbacks?

Commenting to yourself is just south of stalking.

The first sentence wasn’t really english so I tuned it up.

Same with Hader, he basically stopped using it and fans were clamoring for him to stop throwing fastsballs only, but I’ve got to think he knew the slider wasn’t working like it should with the new ball. A part of why his HR/contact rate was so high is that everyone was sitting of fastball.

What This Guy Fawkes said is accurate, but even more than that. Reducing the coefficient of drag on the ball makes pitches less effective (fastballs and breaking balls), but it also means that balls fly faster and farther when hit.  Higher exit velocity leads to higher BABIP and more distance obviously equals more

The ball turned Edwin Diaz’s wipeout slider into one that hung over the plate like a meatball. The guy went from saving 57 games to being a joke.

I believe the seams are less pronounced. Very slightly so, but the pitchers get that much less of a grip, which means they generate that much less spin rate, which means the ball dances that much less over the plate. So basically what used to be a biting slider is now a big ol meatball over the plate waiting to turn

Not a great argument. If you are a player who relies on movement, the new ball is going to disproportionately hurt you more than if you’re a flamethrower who lives at 98 MPH. And it disproportionately hurts any team without a deep bullpen, as the game in 2019 is to throw the baseball as hard as you can and hand it

+1 unqualified trump appointee.

“that the people in charge of baseball, a big and beloved American thing, don’t seem to care about it very much”

“I didn’t know NFL teams had homecoming games,” he said. “I thought that was a high school thing.”

Fans might take the game more seriously if it weren’t being called Snyder-Man: Homecoming
