To be honest, I think you'd need to rely on reading reviews for that. As someone who's tried building such product databases in the past, "quality" is not something that can be so easily quantified into a chart.

I provide IT support for a rather large company and I want to say that 99% of the laptops we order do not have optical drives.

Do you use the DVD drive that often? Serious question, not trolling. I find my usage of DVDs/CDs has dropped to a point where I honestly can't remember the last time I used one.
