I’m agreeing with all of this except it’s NorCal.

Also, I’ve never heard anyone call it “the Bay.” That sounds like you live in the water. We always say Bay Area. Or East Bay or the peninsula or The City.
I’ve never seen No Cal (lived here 20+ years) and if I heard you say it, would’ve assumed you were saying NorCal with a very soft R.
Fixing the real problems! HELLA Norcal. (And I find it kind of weird to even see it split as two words?)
I mean, jesus WEPT. “Funny-stupid”? *wince*
Right?? How is the “Indian gaffe” just brushed off as ‘unpolished’ FFS?
I respectfully disagree. While I would love a So Cal US Senator, Loretta is a blue dog and used to be a Republican, she will be pretty conservative comparatively. Moreover, a little bit of context for having so many No Cal elected officials, LA has been Democratic only in the last generation. No Cal has a more…
We were at the Greek Theater in Berkeley for a concert a few weeks ago and there was a kid sitting in the top row flipping a water bottle before the show started. Every person in the theater was watching this kid and clapping. We are olds and didn’t understand why it was such a big deal until later.
This is such an incredibly stupid thing to say. And, you had the nerve to bring up the Indian thing, at all, and then go on to make a weak-ass case on top of it.
Ugh, I can’t stand Sanchez. She had this horrible mailer with her and her husband at the Angels field and she’s running the bases in heels. It was so tacky and just, weird.
I was recently in Virginia being a tourist around Charlottesville. We went to a winery and were doing a tasting as an interlude between presidential houses. The lady doing the tasting said to the retired couple next to us that if they were interested there were more in the area, including the Trump winery. And the…
Yeah, either people are pulling things out of context and ignoring the rest, or they are just skimming the article. They also tried to educate people on the historic racism and white supremacy of Oregon, and Portland in particular, which a ton of people don’t know about or ignore, in that statement.
They also stated that BLM meets there regularly.
I think they were upset tha the BLM sign was removed so it wouldn’t be seen on the show. They also state BLM Portland also meets there regularly, and are also reminding people of the historic racism of the Oregon and Portland in particular. Oregon was formed to be a “white utopia”
I’ve seen it on Jezebel at least three times over the years. The only person I can specifically name as having said it is Jia Tolentino.
It wasn’t a criticism, it was an observation. I can recall seeing Jez writers/editors claim that, while Jez is directed toward woman, it is not a feminist website. If this is no longer the case and Jezebel now embraces ths “feminist” label I would be more than happy to stand/sit corrected.
What? Did you actually listen to the Another Round episode with Hillary? They joked with her, sure, but they pressed her on policy as well. Positioning yourselves as the only women’s media to bother asking real questions is probably not the best look.
But still: Secretary Clinton and Jezebel felt like a match made in media expediency heaven.
Given the decidedly pro-Bernie slant to your primary coverage, it’s not a surprise she wouldn’t want to speak to Jezebel. Add in the fact that you want to tie her to a decades-old and never charged sexual assault her husband allegedly committed (one that Ken Starr even dismissed) and you wonder why you’re getting…
