It isn’t stupid. If you go to Facebook, it’s still called Facebook. Facebook is the product. Meta is the company. The name of the company changed. Twitter was both the name of the company and the name of the product. Musk changed both. People still call the product Twitter. Ergo, the AP refers to both.

I don’t understand what they hoped to get out of this. Sony isn’t going to pay millions to ensure that its game info doesn’t leak. This will just be like free publicity worth millions for those games.

I have never clocked an iota of discontent with how the metacrisis was resolved. I’m fine with going back to it, but am aware that it rather cheapens a really powerful narrative ending in doing so.
