I remember asking this same question in 1982. These things were everywhere at the time. Even then, they didn’t impress anyone that had driven a European or Japanese car.

I pre-ordered one also. I’m a product designer and your observation match mine. It’s going to be an important set of details to get right. That being said, those items are relatively easy to remove, replace, or upgrade.
