It’s political because it is a statement about a bill passed and signed into law by elected politicians. Also, if a state legislature considers a discriminatory bill, it should be covered by the press, including reaction to its passage by public figures.

It is far from certain that Northwestern would have lost if the foul had not been made. They had the ball, down one point, with 14 seconds to play and a timeout in their pocket. Yeah it was a dumb play, but Northwestern had been making shots down the stretch. No reason to assume that they couldn’t have made one more.

I totally agree with you, but there are a fair number of people who purchase new cars in this range on this sort of income. It’s not that uncommon.

Can you elaborate on the education point? Everyone goes to the same high school. I have heard some people say that certain middle schools and elementary schools are better than others, but no one here has ever said any school in Evanston is bad.

Fair enough, perhaps I should have compared Westchester County to Lake County, in which Lake Forest is located.

I think it is called Northwestern because it is in a part of the country that was referred to as ‘the Northwest’ back in the day. (Like, prior to the territory acquired in the Lousiana Purchase becoming states.)
