I’d look at it from my S2000 and smile knowing I’ve got a 3rd pedal, stratospheric red line, an almost exotic engine (especially for 1999) and I’ve been able to use it for the past 13 years. Purist and DCT don’t go together no matter how light you make the car.

In my 2013 GTI, rolling down the rear windows at ANY time causes extreme buffeting, to the point I’m worried about my ear drums.

Great car, but the platform has limitations. Many prior owners (such as myself) simply moved on to AWD/RWD vehicles once we had the means to afford it. Unfortunately (and fortunately), the manual transmission spoils many a driver when they move on to something more expensive.
