This is quite different. In fact, it’s flipped. The prior Best picture setup made it so that more esoteric films could still be recognized. This setup has what is basically a step-down category. Technically a popular film could still qualify for Best Picture.

So... you want to make the Oscars LESS pretentious by turning it into Cannes? While I agree with your goals, I’m not sure this is the way to go. Better than adding a pleb category.

OK but can we talk about how they spent the past 2 seasons ruining Daya’s character?

Completely agree: Asylum, Roanoke and Coven were stellar. Election and Freak Show were just plain terrible, and the rest fall in-between (although I liked Hotel).

Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine has to be the most refreshing of all the child actor roles I’ve ever seen. She’s just a normal girl. There’s no over-the-top, scenery-chewing specialness to her.

You’re not being offensive, but I think it’s important to keep things in context.

This is why I fucking HATE Hollywood. They talk the talk, but they don’t walk the walk. Period.

Then give me 5 examples of trans men playing either cis women or cis men based on their transition. Specifically in movies. You won’t be able to. THAT is the problem.

OK then show me where trans people are cast as cis characters if it’s just acting. If all representation were equivalent, no one would be complaining. It clearly isn’t.

I’ll give Redmayne a pass because most of the movie was him pre-transition. That kind of casting is nearly impossible without a cis actor.

Yeah I definitely see Kameron being super calculating, but sinister? I think Author meant that she has potential to be sinister because of her smarts.

Even IF the butterflies went as planned with Asia’s performance, WHAT THE FUCK do they have to do with Janet’s songs? Effective prop usage is integral prop usage. Sasha had a theme with her roses. Aquaria had fireworks for Bang Bang. Butterflies and Nasty? No sorry.

How was Kameron’s netting ill-fitting? You literally can’t see a single crease or wrinkle, even when she moved. You’re making shit up to justify your point. Not cute.

They are right. Absolutely, and the show spelled it out so succinctly that they practically beat us over the head with it: David is the tenth person getting the noose.

When we enter a fictional world with mutants, it’s probably time to redefine what “rape” is. Erasing some memories in this world seems to happen so frequently and so casually, it’s hard to draw similar conclusions to the world we live in. Technically every time an empath reads your mind they’re committing rape.

Yeah I agree. Farouk is basically a serial rapist and murderer. David MAY have committed rape ONCE, most likely due to mental illness. This isn’t meant to condone David’s actions, but more to contrast his treatment compared to Farouk, who is freely walking around at the end.

It’s sad how the trans community is treated within the LGBT at-large. As a gay man, part of me wants my safe space where women aren’t included (trans, cis, whatever). But when witnessing the roots of transphobia and racism among gay men, it leaves a very conflicting set of opinions.

There is no way they could do this show and make it an accurate portrayal of 80's queer New York without someone being murdered.

The gun control subplot was REALLY heavy-handed, like Wesly Crusher “drugs can make you feel good” heavy-handed.

My theory is that he isn’t a host, but is aggressively behind the side research to preserve his own mind.
