No, they are closed during ignition lol. The carbon build up happens over time from air coming in. Oil mist from the PCV for example.

Lots of ways, but the reason it’s an issue is because it is direct injection, so the vavles don’t get a bath of gasoline like in a non-direct injection engine. Thus, carbon build up.

1. A serious mechanical failure locked both wheels. On a rear wheel drive car that would most likely be something on the back axle. A front wheel failure would normally not result in two perfect skidmarks.

Anything fwd is easy to catch even in massive slides. Plant your foot on the throttle and wait for it to straighten out.
