My thoughts exactly.
My thoughts exactly.
I am somewhere in the middle on this. I do find myself returning to lighter fair with high episode counts (Friends, Seinfeld, Fraiser, Parks,) when I just need to rest my brain for an hour! I also love watching “characters vibe” as another commenter on the thread put it.
I saw Wonka on Saturday and I found the entire film to be delightful. Timothee fits the innocent, good, and passionate young Wonka bill perfectly. I dearly love the original film and this new film made a new place in my heart.
Holy shit. I had no idea about William Hurt.
This show doesn’t follow history to the T as it wants to be on “the good side.” Look what they did with the union story. In reality those workers would have been slaughtered. Instead they had George appear as “good guy” who knew the gains he gave would essentially be cancelled in 6 months.
I know that the Russell family is supposed to represent a new money family like the Vanderbilts. That doesn’t mean the story will be exactly the same!
It is super obvious that Bertha promised the Duke a marriage with Gladys to solve his long term money problems. I think Bertha is underestimating her daughter. I don’t think she will go quietly into that marriage to be a dollar princess.
The reviews a pretty poor. It might get in on technical categories but will most likely miss in all the main races.
I saw Wonka on Saturday and it was absolutely delightful. I love the original movie and I feel this one delivered on everything. Casting, story, music, set design, direction, and overall tone.
The text messages I saw indicated he injured her and didnt want her to go to the doctor. That is very telling.
Everything I have seen so far indicates he is controlling and emotionally abusive at the least. His language in that audio gives me abusive “high quality man” vibes.
Mollie is the beating heart of the movie.
I watched on streaming this weekend. The movie is way too long and bloated. The story would have been better at a normal 2 hour run time.

If you are talking about The Crow, they already filmed it in Prague and Munich! It’s set to release sometime in 2024 by Lionsgate.
I am so excited for this movie! Bill Skarsgård is such a talented actor. I am also looking forward to the re-boot of The Crow with him in the lead.
No, Sebastian is definitely a crab.
I have a different take than you. I hope all egos can be put aside to honor Christine and the music.
I hope the band can reunite with Lindsay and come back for another tour to honor Christine. That would be the best concluding chapter of Fleetwood Mac.
I would not be surprised if this divorce is about protecting money ahead of civil lawsuits.
