I honestly feel that way about all the attempts at “diversity” in this show. Suddenly, all the main cast women have a woman of color friend (like a token!) and these other woke stories about gender, sexuality, human rights, etc. It feels completely shoehorned in and hollow. NONE of it feels authentic to these

I loved this finale! I also agree I would have liked to have seen this story unfold over the whole season instead of some of the storylines we did get. Oh well. I will miss this show! I wasn’t ready for it to end but this was a damn fine ending.

I guess I am an outlier but when Miranda laid into Che giving a minor pot at a fucking funeral I cheered! If someone gave my teen drugs at a family friends funeral I would have done worse.

Thats what happens when you are grieving. You can’t retain basic information, you lose track of the time, even the day. When my dad died I had this bizarre thing happen where I was completely convinced it was my friend’s birthday. My Dad died on Martin Luther King Day...my friends birthday is November. I couldn’t

Oh god no. I cant handle that! Miranda and Steve belong together!

They are firmly gen x. Except maybe Samantha.

I think AMC is a pretty good home for it. AMC has done some brilliant shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul. Plus, this way The Vampire Chronicles wont be adapted as artless porn. It can be more nuanced and erotic. HBO is not known for its sexual nuance.

Or if it’s the right actress they could pull an Ann Dowd. Dowd as Aunt Lydia in Handmaids is pretty amazing and the character is evil as fuck. I hate the show beyond season 1 but Dowd is continually solid and brilliant. Carlotta could be a similarly juicy role for a gifted veteran actress.

They will have to and the story will benefit. Mona cannot exist in the same form on TV as she does in the series. It would just be unseemly and probably illegal.

She is pretty weirdly religious in Blood Canticle as well and the book was so bad and got such a horrible reaction from fans of The Vampire Chronicles she stopped writing the series for years.

I agree. I love The Witching Hour. It is Rice’s best book. I really hope the show writers do something to improve the material that is in the next two books. There is enough material in The Witching Hour to keep the show busy for several seasons.

I watched the documentary last night and I cannot figure out what she is objecting to at all.

I disagree. I think there is more there if you care to look.

How are you forgetting the character development of Rocket? As the only surviving Guardian he serves for YEARS as an Avenger in memory of his chosen family and then helps save the fucking galaxy. That is a long shot from who he is when we first meet him and Groot in the first Guardians movie.

I loved Legend so, so much.

I really liked The Last Duel. It was an interesting and layered story for adults that was well acted. Jodie Comer was exceptional in it.

The lack of characterization in Shang Chi is a real problem. He has no personality in that movie at all. Without Awkwafina for some comedic relief it would have been even worse.

Agreed.

I just re-watched this on HBO the other night and I agree with you. He plays such a convincing asshole piece of shit in The Way Way Back. I forgot I was watching Steve Carell. That is the mark of a good actor.

Jason Sudekis has always been handsome. I certainly wouldn’t kick him out of bed.
