I think the implication of the end credit scene is that Venom recognizes Peter/Spidey as a symbiote and may even know various versions of Peter from the hive mind, etc.

They are clearly evolving Venom to be a superhero. Venom says at the end of the second movie that he needs a cape and secret identity. They are taking the character in comedic direction.

This episode was so good! I was watching the whole thing unfold with my hand on my heart because it was so intense and emotional. My husband and I snuggled after watching because we were both so shaken up by this episode and watching the characters go to all out war.
