The switch should 100% count.. I literally only play it in handheld and would never play it on the TV and I'm 31, honestly if the screens go back to smaller than a switch I would never by another handheld.

I started with a gbc but the gba is hands down the best handheld ever made... A snes in your hands? Yes please. (hell I also had a game gear before the gba but the gba was the greatest.
Also known as “when were you a child?”
Just that the article says “Mario is finally getting the battle royal treatment” ignoring that this is actually the second time.
Remember when a fan did this last year and Nintendo shut it down? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Sony made reference to PlayStation and PlayStation 2 support on PSNow and then it was all just kinda shrugged out of existence. So I dunno what to tell ya’.
They “should be” because software is where they make their money, not hardware sales which usually are sold at a loss. In this day and age it only makes sense to expand and make as much money as possible instead of limiting who can buy your games. This wasn’t the case 25-30 years ago but it is now.
Guerilla Games is definitely a first party studio and the Decima engine is a Sony engine. Its why Man Of Medan had to switch to Unreal when going multiplatform unlike Until Dawn. Hell the former head of Guerilla is now running Playstation. Guerilla was sold to Sony in 2005. You might be thinking if Insomniac games…
Sure tv set makers could do that. My point was the opposite: Games don’t run out of the box on every console. It takes extra work to use right right SDK or at least optimize for the different Hardware.
Here is another crucial factor: The tv manufacturer makes their profit from your purchase of the tv set. Console…
Seems like nobody in the comments understands the economics of console vendors. Historically console vendors have lost money on the sale of the actual console. They make that money back by charging publishers fees for every game they sell on the console. That’s how the bulk of the money gets made by the console…
Why would it be?
It’s a box that plays games, other than the 1st party games built specifically for those particular boxes, they’re essentially identical. You can watch netflix on anything, so why would anyone spend $500 on this box over $400 on that box if there’s nothing to differentiate them?
If you could get God of…
It’s a good choice. I have maybe 60 hours total on my ps4 and tons on my switch and PC. It’s really hard to play a PS4 game when my PC looks better and doesn’t have agonizing loading times.
Not to mention, PCs are good for, you know, other functions too. So you’re not just investing in a gaming machine.
Microsoft went this path because the Xbox division has never been the centerpiece like Sony’s gaming division is. Microsoft gets a cut regardless of whether you buy an Xbox or windows 10, too much of Sony’s revenue are tied into consoles for them to ever release games simultaneously on ps and pc.
I would say that it’s definitely just now. Platforms are mattering less and less all the time, and I think Microsoft is really pushing ahead with that concept. Basically... The times they are a-changin’, and Sony isn’t keeping up.
Honestly, I just want to play the games. I’m not a console or PC loyalist. Microsoft understands people like me and wants to make their games as accessible as possible to a wide audience.
This $70 shit needs to be shut down right now. I can’t understand how the truly high-end version (PC) is $60, but the next-gen console versions are $70. This is nothing more than a cash-grab.
Companies argue that they’ve been $60 for too long, but the amount of copies they sell now vs the amount of copies they sold 15 years ago is astronomically different. Studios still make an absolute killing at the $60 entry point, more now than they did before. So yeah, they should still be $60.
I’m waiting for the Wind Waker remaster to make it to switch.
just waiting for confirmation on Mario remasters like
