Honestly it’s the go-to defense for any american. Fear people of different ethnicities, fear people from other countries or who have different political beliefs. Fear people who don’t share your sexual or romantic preferences. Fear people who don’t share your (religious) beliefs. Fear your own government.

That might be part of it, but really they’re also going way overboard with the current events.
They’re not deleting words, they’re disallowing words to be used in competitive play - there are tons of words that aren’t recognized as valid words in competitive scrabble despite being used daily by countless people.
It could also be they’re trying out a new variant on their game.
Absolutely, for better or for worse they ended up betting on the wrong horse.
I’d say it goes a long way to highlight some of the problems with how this type of ‘industry’ is set up.
Is it though? Are we really talking about a legal issue here or is this just one in a line of many issues where businesses are using the legal area to leverage financial gain?
That’s a two-edged blade however. Yes, it’s easy to leverage the influence you have to get something from a ‘fan’ - at the same time it’s quite easy to lay blame at someone in a public position and completely ruin them.
Plus there’s the flipside where they might make a show of due diligence but we’ve seen multiple times how easy it is to cast the mark of blame and result in very real repercussions to someone who hasn’t done anything they’ve been accused of.
I’d personally challenge that sentiment.
There’s nothing necessarily wrong with a character, or even a clan or group being written as “bad” or “evil” per se.
Then again, the #1 way to ensure inequality and divisiveness is perpetuated is by actively perpetuating it.
They’re not getting used because everyone is in lockdown at home.
I know that I’ve repurchased most, if not all of the Anno games at some point or another...
Except of course for the fact that the US doesn’t exactly function like a true free market economy... Mixed at best.
You’d be surprised how it can affect your mental wellbeing if even a handful of people tell on a weekly or daily basis that you’re shit, trash, a waste of space and should just kill yourself or anything similar.
