I think that the best stories on the show are the ones that are slow burn, like Will's (but not only his). The signs were there from the start. The first episode he appeared in back in season 1 he tried to dare death on the rail tracks with Gunner and now all of that come full circle.

Think it was so brave of a prime time network TV show to show that coming out struggles are not a joke. If it was Shondaland or Glee they would have focused only on the acceptance of others and not on the inner struggles that do happen for many, especially someone like Will Lexington character in Nashville.
